Place the lighting Place a light source and a soft box or umbrella at a 45-degree angle to the product. This will keep the lighting soft and even. Keep the camera directly in front of the piece of jewelry. If the product is placed on the back of the sweeper, you may see some shade.
Having the setup on a table with a glass countertop with a light source on the floor on one side would be sufficient. Just enough light to burn the shadows, but not too bright to cause ghostly flashes around the jewelry. Add additional sheets of paper to the background to reduce light if it's too much. A kit lens generally has a wide-angle element and a short zoom; numerically, the focal length will normally be 18 to 55 mm.
While these lenses are ideal for photographing moments in life, they are not suitable for smaller objects, such as rings or earrings.
